The Foundation

The Shanti Foundation is located in Bangalore, Karnataka State. Benefiting from a tropical climate with the monsoon in September, it is located on the high plateau of the Deccan. Average maximum temperatures are 34°C in April. The city has become an academic, scientific and economic center and is considered to be India's "Silicon Valley". Computer software, biochemistry and aerospace are the three fastest growing sectors. These fields coexist with the more traditional textile industries.

Founded in 1995, the Foundation is recognized by the Indian government. In 2019, more than 180 children are supported in their school careers in the various programs.

The children of the Foundation are financially supported to integrate public or private schools after the Gokula (kindergarden) program. These are of better quality than the public schools which are free, but overcrowded, irregularly attended by teachers and with very few school materials available.
